Here is how InsureHedge (division of Brown & Brown of NY, Inc.) will handle any information we gather about you. All information collected, regardless of type, will be protected pursuant to the Privacy Act of 1974 and the Freedom of Information Act (as well as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)). InsureHedge (division of Brown & Brown of NY, Inc.) adheres to and is in compliance with the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce in coordination with the European Union’s Directive on Data Protection. If you visit us, we will collect and store non-personal information about your visit for internal statistical purposes. We may also collect personal information (e.g., name, addresses, phone numbers, E-mail addresses, health or medical information) if you telephone us, send us an E-mail or fax, fill out a registration or enrollment form, or complete a feedback or comment form. We do this to respond to your request, to resolve issues about your benefits for which we may provide administrative services, and to provide better service to you. We will not disclose, sell or transfer any personal information to any third parties except that we will transmit personal information to third parties only for the purpose for which it was originally collected and we will do so only to a third party that is acting as an agent, and only if the third party also subscribes to these Privacy Principles and provides at least the same level of privacy protection as is required by the relevant Principles. If you do not want us to provide information to third parties for these purposes, you must contact us (see below). You may also contact us to obtain a copy of information we maintain for you or to correct, amend or delete such information if it is inaccurate.
